Peer Review Online Platform update

Advisory group and project update

Since our last update (see Feb 2018 post) we have been developing the Peer Review Online Platform (PROP) further and the project is now live and this stage will run for nine months.  Phase 1 of the project is to test the core concept of how we introduce a web-based platform for peer assessments of advice given to be carried out by external experienced reviewers across the advice network. Throughout this phase we will continually test each stage, seek solutions to any problems that arise, adapt and change where required and seek feedback from those organisations involved.

We have established a PROP advisory group, members include representatives from AQS holding advice services, stakeholders, pro bono organisations, accreditation service, ASA PMC and independents with expert knowledge (as and when required). The advisory group will provide oversight for the initial development of this phase of the project, the responsibility of the advisory group is to feed in perspectives from key stakeholders to better inform the decision making for the project and will also monitor the progress against the project plan and review the risk analysis.

List of advisory board members can be found here https://advicequalitystandard.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/PROP-AB.pdf

The PROP advisory group met on the 15th January where we agreed the groups terms of reference, approved the project plan, agreed early actions, discussed IT solutions, potential risks and the projects outcomes.

The next stage of the project is to identify a potential pool of reviewers and organisations who wish to become subscribers or wish to have their case files reviewed. AQS holding advice services will be contracted before the end of January regarding expressing an interest in being part of the pilot.
