The Big Lottery Fund announced on Monday 6th July 2015 a new funding programme aimed at helping people experiencing extreme difficulties or crisis. The fund will enable between 50 and 70 projects across England work in partnership to provide client focussed advice and support in order to both support people at times of crisis and help them avoid similar problems in the future. The Advice Services Alliance welcomes this announcement which comes at an important time for the advice sector. This funding will enable the advice sector to build on the considerable achievements of the past few years in developing partnerships and addressing issues of effectiveness and efficiency. By focussing on the client experience, advice centres will be able to develop new collaborations and partnerships across the voluntary sector.
